Light sources: three quarter light
This type of lighting achieves a good compromise between the depth of detail and shadow and highlight areas. The angle of the light is such that it illuminates the majority of the subject and still provides for a degree of shadow to mould and define the contours. This is equally true of peoples faces or any subject with depth to its form.
