Light sources: side light

Single light source side lighting produces high contrast images with strong detail where the shadow and light mix. Although detail is revealed, it should be noted that in the extreme areas of highlight and shadow very little information is preserved making the image more of a curiosity piece rather than a detailed study of the subject.
