It would be easy to think of light as one generic entity that simply makes visibility possible. And yet the different types of light are almost as diverse as night and day itself. Choosing the right kind of light for any given image is as critical and fundamental to the image as focussing the camera. Whether you are harnessing natural daylight or creating an artificial lighting set up, some thought needs to be given as to the final desired effect and the type of light that would be most appropriate to the project.
